Dec. 1, 2009 - Matt Klinger Named President of HCF

Hunting Creek Fisheries is proud to announce that Matt Klinger is the fifth President in the company's history. Matt, the older son of Ray Klinger and Dru Tresselt, is the fourth generation in the Tresselt / Klinger families. "My first job on the farm was as a “bird chaser” at age 12," Matt recalls. "In the evenings, I would ride my bike around the property to scare birds away during our breeding season, and I remember admiring how beautiful the farm was on every trip around the ponds. Having grown up on the farm my entire childhood life, I am excited to return with my wife to carry on my family’s legacy. I will continue to operate the farm as my grandfather, Ernie Tresselt, did with a focus on innovation.” Matt is a recent graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School.

Hunting Creek Fisheries, Inc. is a family owned and operated 125 acre fish farm in the shadows of the Catoctin Mountains. Our product line includes numerous varieties of goldfish, koi, golden orfe, aquatic plants, and our own formula of floating fish feed, the same formula we use on the farm. Since 1924, pet shops, garden centers, and pond specialists from around the world have relied on HCF for the highest level of products and service. HCF is operated in a socially conscience and environmentally sustainable manner and has been certified as disease free throughout its history by the Maryland Department of Agriculture’s Animal Health Laboratory. HCF is a proud member of the National Ornamental Goldfish Growers Association (NOGGA).
